A CREATIVE PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER BASED ON BC’S SUNSHINE COAST

I love to create powerful imagery that is playful, fierce, and conceptual. I spent my art school days learning film and digital photography, working in the darkroom, and studying art history with a focus on conceptual art. I have experience assisting in a full-service photography studio working on commercial shoots with studio lighting, taking corporate headshots, photographing couples and families, and editing images.

Since launching my business, I have worked to create images for local small businesses and non-profits to help tell their story and amplify their message. I know that photography is a tool to empower people and I love to help people build self-confidence through a creative portrait session.

I have 10+ years of experience in Marketing and Communications and am passionate about helping my clients use words and pictures to tell their story and grow their business. If you’re sick of wasting time and energy trying to take photos of yourself that don’t suck, you’re in the right place.

Along with being a storytelling tool, photography is a tool for transformation. I began taking self-portraits as a way to look at myself with kinder eyes. I wanted to experiment, explore, and just play. Initially, I didn’t expect the process to be so powerful, but something happens when you step in front of the lens. I gained self-confidence, let go of (most of) my self-criticisms, and reconnected with who I am at my core. Ultimately, I’ve found this practice to be empowering and I love to share it with people.
